Alzheimer’s and dementia are neurodegenerative conditions which affect more and more people throughout the world. Worldwide, nearly 44 million people have Alzheimer’s or a related dementia. These numbers will almost double every 20 years, reaching 75 million in 2030 and 131.5 million in 2050. Dementia mainly affects older people, although there is a growing awareness of cases that start before the age of 65. The purpose of this global forum is to improve the quality of people living with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
